The NBA tips on October 26th and it’s time to decide who’s contending, who’s pretending, and who was dead before the season even started.  We’ll cover every team, but we won’t beat any dead horses. Between LeBron and the “new look” Heat, Kobe having another surgery, and Shaq going to the Celts I think we have plenty to talk about.  We’ve also seen some coaching changes I think you’ll find interesting. The NBA is a coach-driven league that pimps its superstars really well.  We could discount the effect that coaches have, but that would be stupid.  We’ve got to talk…

Arms are one of the first things people see on your body. They are at eye level and whether you are wearing a tank top, short sleeved shirt, or button down shirt, you can immediately see someone’s definition. Two important factors to consider when working towards achieving better arms are less repetitions and more weight will help bulk them up, while standard number of reps and moderate to heavy weight will get deep definition. Either way, your arms will become more toned and you’ll be ready to show them off. So what is the trick to getting arms that girls…

This is the final regular season edition of S&S, and I feel it is only fitting to hand out my season awards for 2010.  I will end with American League The AL ROY is the one award I’m sure the voters will agree upon the most.  Minnesota Twins third baseman Danny Valencia has played nicely for the AL Central division winner, but hasn’t really played enough to get full consideration. A big surprise to many this season has been the emergence of the Texas Rangers. Closer Neftali Feliz has been a major contributor, nailing down 37 saves.  When the playoffs…

There are things you know you should eat, right? You should eat your fruits and veggies. You should eat (or drink) your greens. Aside from that, there are very few things agreed upon in the realm of nutrition. Well, I’m here to tell you that one thing you should be eating is chickpeas. Whether you prefer to have them in the form of hummus, falafel, Burmese tofu, or au natural, they’re a definite “must” if you want an easy, nutrition-packed meal! A Rose By Any Other Name… You may call them garbanzo beans or ceci beans instead as well as…

The Buffalo Bills released quarterback Trent Edwards Monday morning. This came one week after Edwards lost his starting job to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Head coach Chan Gaily entered the regular season with high hopes for Edwards and the Bills’ chances with him at the helm. Edwards failed to increase that confidence by starting the season 0-2 with losses against the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills shopped the QB before finally releasing him. The Bills are planning to re-sign 7th-Round QB from the University of Troy, Levi Brown. Edwards is in his fourth season…

I want to say , before I continue , that Dr. Tom O’Connor is quite a character, his energy and personality is the main reason for his success. He has such a passion for lifting and lifters , that it comes out in an almost child like excitement. I have to admit , speaking to him  almost made me feel like when I first starting helping people many years ago. Now on with the story of this man. He said that in the beginning , he was not convinced of his own writing just yet , but the information he…

The Toronto Blue Jays have few bright spots in their season.  They’re barely above .500.  They’re in fourth place in the AL East.  No one takes them seriously, and they’re in the place where everyone thinks Roger Clemens started using steroids. So, when Jose Bautista comes along and hits 50 home runs it’s kind of a big deal, but in today’s game everyone is going to be skeptical.  Why?  The whole “I bet he’s juicing” thing. Personally, I think this is the kind of thing that can only happen in baseball.  Baseball is the game where you do one little…

Jay Cutler, where do I even begin with you? You were all talent coming out of Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt! If you look up Vanderbilt in the dictionary here in the South the definition is “loser.” So, Jay comes from Loserville and gets drafted by a desperate team looking to replace John Elway. He turns out to be pretty good, but temperamental. He’s thrown for over 3,000 yards in each of the last three seasons, but those yards come at a price. He’s got a mouth, he isn’t afraid to use it, and all that yardage doesn’t always add up to numbers…

When you join the gym, you need to decide what you want to gain from your workout. Is it to lose weight, get fit, tone the body, or to change your mindset from negativity to positivity? I’ve had a few personal training sessions, one of which was a twenty minute boxing workout. There are normally some complimentary sessions included when you join a gym. There are often a number of personal trainers listed at the gym, together with their credentials. Each can help you to build on your fitness goals, but are they worth the money, or could you become…

If you read the article “Is it that time of the month or something?” Some women are lucky if they don’t experience any PMS symptoms before that time of the month, but symptoms such as irritability, headache, cramps, fatigue, bloating, emotional sensitivity and tons more can affect women before and during that time of the month. If you’ve found that the woman in your life gets offended when you ask her if it’s that time of the month, consider how much she might have to go through when it is that time. Imagine if you were this star football player…
