Resistance tubing workouts are a great way to get toned and fit at home or when you are on the road. It also is a great tool to use at the gym when you are looking for variety and a new challenge. People tend to think resistance tubes are only for girls and that you can’t get results using them, but this statement is just false. Many athletes use them to stay in shape and challenge their bodies in the off season. Other fitness enthusiasts turn to resistance tubes to challenge their bodies in new ways and to get never-before-seen…

Let’s face it. The Yankees lost the series with the Texas Rangers because they suck. As a Yankee fan I could try and jump to their defense, but I watched the series. I saw the same games you saw. I’m not going to sit here and deny it – the Yankees blew it. They just plain sucked! How It Happened Let’s begin with the starting rotation. C.C. Sabathia not pitching well after 10 days rest to start game one is just plain crap. He’s supposed to be the “ace of the pitching staff.” Tell me he wasn’t practicing during that…

After two short stints in Memphis and Philadelphia it appeared Allen Iverson’s NBA career may be over. Iverson left the 76ers prematurely last season to deal with family issues. Two weeks ago rumors started to circulate that Iverson was in negotiations with a team in China and was more heavily involved with a team in Turkey. Iverson will reportedly play next season for Turkish pro team Besiktas, the deal worth $4 million over the next two-years. Some of the details on the contract would allow Iverson to opt out after one season, but does not contain an NBA escape clause…

The 2010 MLB World Series will feature the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants. I doubt either of these two teams were high on anyone’s list when the players were gathering for spring training back in March, yet here they are, and they earned it. I don’t believe this is the dream World Series match-up that baseball had hoped for. There are no super-stars and there isn’t a super-power team for casual fans to route against. I will watch it and likely enjoy it, but don’t think this series has much appeal to the masses under any circumstances. Kevin Kernan,…

If you are looking to increase your muscle mass or training intensity, then it is important to know if iron deficiency is what is holding you back. There is much conflicting information on iron deficiency. There’s so much hype about consuming too much iron that some people are afraid to eat or supplement with it. Cornell University found that those prone to iron deficiency, whether by over training, poor absorption, or…

The Texas Rangers punched their first ticket to the World Series on Friday night by defeating the Yankees and completing only their second playoff series win in team history. The San Francisco Giants took out the Phillies in six games to reach their first World Series since 2002.  It’s hard to think that teams from Dallas and San Francisco are small-market, but they are. The Texas Rangers have been irrelevant since their inception.  In fact, the only good thing that ever happened to them was Nolan Ryan.  They had Juan Gonzalez and he did nothing for them in the playoffs.…

As of the stroke of the pen in this column the college football galaxy (FBS, whatever) has 3 undefeateds (besides Texas, Florida and Alabama) who are making some serious noise in the hopes that they can get even a passing whiff of the BCS Title Game. I know, I know, I could go smaller and say that they should be happy to even have a shot at being “in” but I don’t care about that.  Let’s forget the whole “it’s a privilege to be “in” crap and get real…we want a title Game damn it! Cincinnati, TCU, and Boise State…

Remember last week when Oklahoma ended up #1 in the initial BCS rankings?  I know, I know, I was wrong about Boise State being at the top, but I was just following what some “expert” said.  What does he know anyway? Oklahoma ended up #1 even though Oregon was tops in all the polls and they score about 50 points a game.  I guess I could live with it, but I had this nagging feeling that Oklahoma would screw it up at some point.  They would eventually prove themselves unworthy. It only took one week. Oklahoma went out to Columbia,…

Usher is probably the biggest millennial music star we’ve got. He’s sold millions upon millions of albums and he’s even had a solo album sell over 20 million copies. But Usher isn’t just known as a great singer and musician. In today’s music industry you’ve got to look good, and Raymond has that down pat. He’s become known for having strong, washboard abs and a great physique that easily draws in the ladies. (Then again, his singing doesn’t hurt.) How does User get the “Hollywood body” that’s required of stars in 2010? It’s a combination of exercise, diet, and rest.…

Juice fasting is not for the faint of heart. It requires mental strength and commitment to stick to the plan, but this gentle detox is well worth the health benefits, including a cleaner colon, glowing skin, fast weight loss, mental clarity, concentration, stress relief, and internal healing, to name a few. I can validate that juice fasting makes the body and mind feel great. As a young woman who had never tried a detox in her life, I thought I would go out and try a six-day juice fast. A juice fast cleanses the colon and gives the extremely hard-working…
