Remember when the NFL was full of entertaining players and personas? From the Fridge to Lawrence Taylor to Jim McMahon, Ickey Woods, right on down the line, the 1980s and early 1990s were a great time for the league and its fans. The league was exciting, celebrations and flamboyance were as common as the Buccaneers getting pummeled wearing those day glo orange uniforms, and life was good. You had coaches like Mike Ditka and Jerry Glanville walking the sideline, guys that were larger than life attitude wise, and more than ready to make a quip, a one liner, or something…

Say “Hello” to your neck by reaching behind your head and feeling your hand on the back of your neck. You neck has a very important job to do and that is support your head. The muscles of the neck rotate and flex the neck backwards and forwards as well as side to side. Even when you turn your head, your neck muscles do all the work to support your head. If the neck is not ready or exercised properly, the movement of the neck becomes achy and stiff.  And that can be a pain in the neck. A strong…

This is a tough little magic workout that fatigues the arms, works the pectoral muscles, abdominals, arms, back, buttocks, legs, and the heart through the cardiovascular workout of skipping, the  body weight training of the press-ups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks, and plyometric training of the press-up burpees. This workout will take around 25-30 minutes depending on how many breaks you take. It makes use of jump rope, plyometric training, and bodyweight training. This can be performed anywhere, but somewhere like a laminate floor or gym based floor is best. Concrete is harsh on the joints, and grass will more than…

Before you avoid this column entirely because you think I’m only going to talk about the Falcons hold up just one second.  I’m sitting in front of the TV in my living room, laptop in hand, the family is napping, and the 2nd half of this week’s Falcons/Panthers game (in which I picked the Falcons because the Panthers suck) is about to start, Daryl Johnston and Kenny Albert are calling the game, and the Falcons need a wake-up call (as do other teams in the league.) Apparently, Michael Turner is out and Jason Snelling is the new option coming out…

UFC Star Brock Lesnar is reportedly in bad bad shape. UFC President Dana White tells TMZ.com that Lesnar is, quote, “very very sick” with an intestinal disorder that will likely require, “major surgery.” It could be career-ender for the UFC heavyweight champ. According White, there’s a possibility that the 32-year-old will never fight again. White says mononucleosis forced Lesnar to cancel a fight three weeks ago, and that he went to Canada for vacation where he reportedly collapsed and has been in the hospital ever since. This is horrible news for MMA fans every where.  Whether you hate Brock, or…

There has been much talk of Georges St. Pierre going to the Olympic games in 2012 to test his wrestling skills against some of the best in the world.  While GSP doesn’t have the same collegiate wrestling back ground as many of todays UFC stars such as Josh Koscheck, or Brock Lesnar, many believe GSP to be the most skilled wrestler in MMA today. But why would GSP, who is a Mixed Martial Artist revert to wrestling. The thought of GSP testing his wrestling skills in the Olympics is great news if you are both a MMA fan and a…

This always seems to be a hot topic, which forum can I trust…… Well that is a damn fine question, and also a hard one to answer. There are many forums that don’t have the members best interest in mind, but have such a large following , and have brain washed soo many that it is hard to see the forest through all the trees. The main points are , any site that erases post that oppose a sponsor, is corrupt I don’t care what the reason. Right there they show that their pockets are more important  than the members…

You want to make sure that you balance your pectorals when you lift. The most common type of “imbalance” relating to the chest area is flawed upper pectorals development. It is known to happen to those who go off the beam because they fall short on fitting in the incline bench press with every training session or put aside the incline bench press until the very end of the chest maneuvers at the muscles’ weakest point. This lift lets you strengthen and develop the upper area of your chest. You want to start the workout by first completing the inclined…

For any regular runner, uphill running requires mental strength, which can also slow some runners down. To improve speed, prevent injury and soreness, downhill running can help you to become a much more efficient runner. Perhaps some runners believe that uphill running is the way to improve on speed and stamina, but the stress to the joints may cause an injury if the correct posture is not sustained. Both uphill and downhill running performed together, or on alternate days, will help to improve leg speed, prevent muscle soreness, and help to prevent injury. Running can cause muscle soreness, especially if…

best way to describe Aaron McKie is “Eric Snow wannabe.” (Yeah, he wasn’t even good enough to NOT be good enough to be on the floor with AI but he was their only option.) Tyrone Hill, George Lynch, Matt Geiger, Rodney Buford, Jumaine Jones (yes, I spelled it right!), Todd MacCulloch, Kevin Ollie, Roshown McLeod, Raja Bell (yes, before Mike D’Antoni got a hold of him and made him look better than he really was.) AND, Anthony Miller. This was the garbage that Iverson had to carry around for an entire season. He averaged 31 points a game that season…
