SO I am a huge Chicago Bears fan, and last night was a F*ing mess last night. How do you get 3 penalties on the final drive that would have won the game, 4th and 1 turns into 4th and 6, why because Pro Bowler Orlando Pace goes off sides, not to mention Olin Kreutz holding 2 plays earlier, it was so disgusting. How about the first drive of the game, that touchdown couls have lead to the winning drive, instead of failed tying drive. Talk about rage, I lost it after the game. I love the bears and Atlanta…
You may have heard that Lyoto Machida drinks his own pee. Well, it is not a rumor, he does. Why would anyone do such a thing? Well, according to Lyoto’s father, Yoshizo Machida, drinking your own pee helps provide amazing immunity benefits. Here is a piece from Sherdog’s interview with Yoshizo: “Sherdog: What about urine therapy. How did you start doing that? Yoshizo: Actually, this technique was used in China and India a long time ago. I started doing that after reading a book about a Japanese doctor who was in World War II. When the medicines ran out, he…
If you have no exercise partner or friend to motivate your mind through the tough workouts, music can help to push your mind beyond those painful boundaries to build stamina and muscular strength. There are usual music systems for you to listen to at the gym on each of the machines, but these usually list the radio stations, and we all know that a lot of chit chat takes place on these stations. Alternatively, you can purchase an MP3 or iPod system, download your own music, and let that be your instant motivation when the need arises. Music is a…
And so, alas we have come to the end of this series. In case you haven’t been with us for the last two articles, here’s a brief catch-up. This series is about the 9 key rules that are essential to follow if you are serious about getting muscular. And so, here we go for the last time – 7. Create Time You are NEVER too busy to work out. If you are truly serious about getting ripped, you will ensure that the statement, ‘I just don’t have enough time to work out’, never, ever comes out from your lips. There’s…
Yesterday I was telling someone my current picks record (51-23) and I starting talking about how the NFL is such an hourglass that I don’t see why I can’t keep up my (IMO very good) record. Then it hit me…the NFL IS an hourglass this season. Sometimes the league is top heavy or bottom heavy. Sometimes there’s a million teams “in the middle” and only a few on top or bottom. This season is completely different. So, in order to illustrate I’ll do a Power Ranking of sorts, but I’ll have only Top and Bottom teams (and one in the…
Spinning is a fantastic cardiovascular exercise that improves the fitness greatly. Spinning works on building the stamina, builds leg strength, and can burn up to 800 calories per hour session, much more than running would. It can be as hard as you want to make it, and will cause the body to heat very rapidly, so it is important to carry water with you and a towel to mop your sweat. One of the great things about spinning is it is a group exercise performed to music and it is very motivating. Your spinning instructor will talk you through climbs,…
Yep, there it is…”The Punch”. LeGarette Blount decking Boise State’s Byron Hout after the Ducks lost a game everyone thought they could win. Hout was taunting Blount and Blount completely flew off the handle and threw “The Punch”. This is a commentary on how Oregon came back from this utter disaster and put the Humpty Dumpty Ducks back together again. Right after the punch it led every sports and news outlet in the universe. Everyone was talking about it. Everyone was debating how long each player would be suspended. Some people even suggested that Blount should lose his scholarship. I…
They say that professional wrestling isn’t so much about in ring ability and big moves, as it is the ability to sell a character, and tell a story. In these days however, it’s not so much about selling the story, as selling a look. Charisma has gone the way of the dinosaurs, cast aside for a series of muscle bound clones that, if you put a mask on them, would be as indistinguishable from one another as hamburgers from McDonald’s. The big names of the past, who helped turn professional wrestling from a regionalized attraction in a worldwide phenomenon, are…
So I took a few weeks off, not because I needed it but because I wanted to re-evaluate my goals and why I started this a year ago. I needed to make sure I was staying the course and was being true to my original cause. I read over all my posts ( some I couldn’t believe a man with a degree as I have, wrote some sub-par crap, while others were way beyond my writing ability), and what you should know is I am a math guy, never was much for the english end of the world. Never got…
Why does Kimbo Slice get so much damn press? At best he’s a preliminary fighter with the exception of actual potential. Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz both were preliminary fighters who went on and became legitimate legends in the sport of MMA. There are guys fighting on undercard shows all the time who one day might became a beast for their organization. Kimbo Slice will not. He is a sideshow and would fit in perfectly if Pride Fighting Championship was still running circus acts in Japan. I’m glad Roy Nelson beat him on The Ultimate Fighter and from here on…
