If you thought your short intensive workouts were hard, perhaps you should try Metabolic Conditioning (or “MetCon” as it is fast becoming known worldwide). A variety of individuals use MetCon, including mixed martial artists, soldiers and actors who need to get into incredible shape fast for movie roles. What is Metabolic Conditioning (MetCon)? ACC football is not what it used to be, or is it?  Basically, Florida State was propping up the whole league, and a good 15 years of “propping” left the league thinking it was actually worth something. Now Bobby Bowden is out at FSU, there are no threatening teams in the league, and the “elite” teams aren’t even elite. Don’t believe me?  Did you watch football this Saturday? GT, VT, FSU, U Yep, every one of these teams lost in embarrassing fashion on national television this past Saturday.  Miami gave in to Ohio State, and Jacory Harris ruined his Heisman…

In high school, my nutritionist recommended that I start eating breakfast every day to be in the best shape for softball season. I couldn’t see how eating at six o’clock in the morning could be beneficial. I was completely nauseated first thing in the morning from lack of sleep and a stressful course load and I told the nutritionist so. I’ll never forget what she said in response, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” Little did I know that she’d passed on advice so sage that I’d remember and pass it on…

This week I will give my two cents on which players to start in fantasy football on Sunday.  I’ll also give some quick thoughts on the first game of the season; three bets that should yield winnings; and finally, my picks for week 1 of the NFL season. Saints vs. Vikings Recap If you aren’t a fan of either team then Thursday night’s rematch of the NFC Championship must have been a bore. This was a defensive battle in all but three drives of the game. It was an all around fantasy letdown, unless you have Pierre Thomas as your…

ESPN is reporting trade discussions between the Denver Nuggets and Chicago Bulls involving Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony and Bulls forward/center Joakim Noah. This comes one day after Yahoo Sports released a report that Anthony requested a trade to either the New York Knicks or the Bulls. The Bulls would like to move forward Luol Deng in the trade, but the Nuggets are hesitant to pull the trigger due to Deng’s long term contract. A report coming from the Denver Post says, the Nuggets won’t make any decisions until GM Masai Ujiri has a one-on-one meeting with their All-Star forward. Rumors…
