If you’re one of the millions of guys out there wondering why you and your girlfriend are never on the same page, you’re not alone. She’s probably wondering the same thing too—why you’re not on HER page. Women, the more complex of the sexes seem like they can never make up their minds but the truth is all you have to do is ask them what they want and they’ll let you know. It may be completely different than what they said yesterday but honestly, it’s better to ask than to assume. I interviewed a couple of my closest friends…

Continuing our Ordinary Super Foods series, today we’ve got beets. Beets get a bad rap, but they’re tasty, easy to prepare, and fantastic for the body. If you’re still in doubt after reading about all of the benefits, just give one of the recipes a try. I’ll admit to being a beet hater until I had a fantastic salad with gorgonzola, candied walnuts, and fresh beets over spinach. I was instantly converted after falling in love with that dish. Many thanks to Wolfgang Puck for serving it on his menu at Downtown Disney in Orlando! Whether you’re looking to prevent…

Couch Potato Blitz: Week 13 Fantasy Edition Week 13 of fantasy football! Some of us are down to our final week of the regular season and some of us have one more week to clinch that final playoff spot. For anyone out there who would like to discuss my decisions, or ask about players I fail to cover in the…

Today, Georgia fired it’s Defensive Coordinator (Willie Martinez) and 2 other defensive assistants and I have to say I’m surprised. I just went off on Monday about how UGA wasn’t going to win anything coming out of their defeat of Georgia Tech because they would bide their time with the Assistants they had instead of moving people around or doing SOMETHING about their problems…I guess Mark Richt or the school administration had other ideas. With the Defense getting a complete overhaul this puts Georgia in a much better position than I thought they were a couple days ago.  (No one…

Tuesday night, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Magic Johnson announced that he would be joining former Timberwolves owner Tim Leiweke and AEG in an effort to bring an NFL franchise to Los Angeles. According to Minnesota Vikings vice president of public affairs, Lester Bagley, the Midwest NFL franchise has been targeted recently by AEG. In 2009, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf and management toured L.A. Live (an entertainment complex in the cit), but Bagley says that was only to get ideas to build a similar complex in Minnesota. The Vikings are in the final year of their lease and Bagley says they…

The Miami Heat have gotten off to a disappointing start with a 9-8 record. Even for people with realistic expectations of the difficulties involved in acclimating an entire roster to a new system, it has been disappointing. There were several questions surrounding the highly hyped team. Who would play point guard, did they have enough big men, and how would the ball sharing work? The biggest pre-season question was whether or not Erik Spoelstra was the head coach for this team. Team president Pat Riley was the engineer and architect for what people were calling a super-team. Many of us…

I know, you’ve probably never heard of teff. I hadn’t either until three years ago when I started reading the blog of a friend with adopted children who still makes their Ethiopian favorites. There, among the exotic names and beautiful faces, was a tiny little grain with big fat nutrition. Since that time, I’ve come to regard teff as the most nutritious grain you’ve never heard of. It’s so healthy that it’s used to treat malnutrition in Africa. It’s so small that 150 grains equal the size of one kernel of wheat. Today, I hope you’ll come to recognize its…

The San Francisco 49ers lost RB Frank Gore for the season to a broken hip. Gore was hurt on the Niners first series, but returned to the game briefly before he was forced out by pain. He had 5 carries for 52-yards in the 27-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Gore’s replacement, veteran Brian Westbrook, filled in with 136-yards rushing and a touchdown. Westbrook had only nine yards rushing entering Monday’s game, but it looks like he will receive the bulk of the carries with the injury to Gore. Gore finished the season with 853-yards rushing and 452-yard receiving. This…

On Monday a source confirmed to ESPN.com’s Joe Schad that Texas Christian University would join the Big East conference effective 2012. TCU currently plays in the Mountain West Conference and has a 12-0 record placing them third in the BCS standings. By switching to the Big East, TCU would automatically qualify for a major BCS bowl game with their current record. Without the Boise State loss on Saturday night to Nevada it is likely TCU would have been forced out of an opportunity to play in a major BCS bowl game. There is still the possibility that TCU could play…
