Seth Rogen debuts as The Green Hornet in theaters and he’s not exactly the type you’d take for an action hero. Actually, he doesn’t seem like the action-type at all. Usually, comedic actors are the guys who make jokes in action movies but don’t do any stunts. Think Joe Pesci in the Lethal Weapon movies. People got shot and lots of stuff blew up, but he was just funny. Rogen isn’t the funny man in The Green Hornet. He IS The Green Hornet. So, how does an overweight actor lose a little weight and get ready to do most of…
This week the NBA took a few interesting turns as teams start to show us who they really are. Now that we’re about 15 games into the season it’s a simple who’s up and who’s down. This includes team like the Spurs (who have put together a nice winning streak) and the Knicks who are, miraculously, at 6-8. Then there are the favorites in both conferences; The Heat and the Lakers. The Lakers are way up after Pau Gasol had a perfect night shooting the ball, and the Heat are down another player. There’s a great deal of the season…
The balance of power still lies in the West with the Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks all sustaining fast starts while the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals continue to lead the field in the East. Meanwhile, Steven Stamkos and Sidney Crosby traded points this week as the scoring race heated-up. The Week in Hockey Sunday, November 14 The New York Rangers started off the week routing the Edmonton Oilers 8-2. Marion Gaboriak had a hat trick and an assist for four points and Alexander Frolov scored a goal and three assists. Niklas Backstrom continued his strong…
Friday marks the kickoff of the Iron Bowl, Arizona/Oregon, and Boise State/Nevada. Saturday could be the heaviest hangover college football has seen in a long time. Each of these games possesses a large part of the BCS formula within its results. A loss (or even a nasty win) could spell doom for so many teams, and mean great fortune for others. There are plenty of one-loss teams that stand to gain from “off” performances on Friday night. Boise State can’t avoid a slip-up, Oregon needs to keep rolling, and Auburn can’t stop now. How big is each game? Arizona at…

This week I have highlighted my top five players to start and my top five players to sit for your fantasy rosters. And as always, if I don’t cover your fantasy dilemma in this week’s edition, please feel free to contact me via Twitter to bounce any of your fantasy concerns off of me. Couch Potato Blitz: Week 12 Predictions Week 12 of the NFL season brings us poor Thanksgiving day games and an even worse Monday night match-up. Some where sandwiched in between that is some pretty good football. In New England Patriots @ Detroit Lions – The Lions have improved, but I think it’s safe to say that people on the west coast can go ahead and sleep-in Thanksgiving morning. I’m not sure what is more shocking, the fact that the Pats keep winning or how Tom Brady is starting to resemble a European adult film star. The Patriots are coming off…
Round Three The third round proves fruitless for Jackson, missing leg kicks and combos early in the match, followed immediately by Machida landing a left hook. The match becomes nail-biting as Machida’s takedown of Jackson occurs with three minutes remaining, which he maintains for a minute and thirty seconds before attaining a full-mount of Jackson. “Rampage” counters his attempted arm bar by lifting him, leaving Machida no choice but to back off. Another takedown results with Jackson on top, which leaves the two men still grappling as the clock runs out. No one was more surprised about the outcome of…

Yankees 2B Robinson Cano finished third, Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista finished fourth, and White Sox 1B/DH Paul Konerko finished fifth. Hamilton led Major League Baseball in batting average (.359) and helped the Rangers to their first ever World Series appearance. Hamilton becomes the fourth player in team history to win the award and the fifth time the Texas…
The New York Yankees are facing one of the toughest decisions in sports – contract negotiations with the face of the franchise, shortstop Derek Jeter. There are certain players in sports that, when you think of an organization, you think of a signature player. They don’t just represent the era in which they played, but what the organization stands for as a whole. Jeter is 36 years old and has been with the team full-time since 1996. He is coming off of a very down season where his numbers were well below his career average – batting average .270 (.314…
The Minnesota Vikings have decided to relieve Brad Childress of his coaching duties. They have named defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. This comes one season after Childress received a contract extension from the team through 2013 — the final year being a team option. The past two seasons Childress has led the Vikings to the top of the NFC North. resulting in a 1-2 post-season record. Last season was a lost to New Orleans in the NFC title game. They made the move to bring in Brett Favre last season…
