Two popular fighters who have been out for quite some time are making their way back into the Octagon at UFC 106 to test their skills.  Karo Parisyan (18-5) was suspended for nine months after his defeat of Dong Hyun and fined $36,000 for testing positive for pain killers.  His win over Hyun was later ruled a no contest, due to the drug test results. Dustin Hazelett (12-4) on the other hand has been out since November 28th after he tore his ACL while training to fight Ben Saunders at UFC 96.  Hazelett had undergone surgery to fix the tear…

Fedor Emelianenko has caught a lot of heat in recent weeks since he signed with Strikeforce. Many people tout Fedor as the best pound for pound fighter in the world, however the folks in the UFC are constantly denying that claim. Frank Mir recently weighed in on this discussion during the DAM Radio Show and he didn’t have much to say that would support Fedor’s role as the best fighter in the world. “I think it’s an excuse to dodge the top-level competition,” Mir said. “As long as he never proves it, he can keep the No. 1 ranking. If…

So we have MLB showing what happens when they promise secrecy and somehow names leak out one by one ( funny how the majority of the names released are prominent stars , not the bums that never made it ) , and now we have senators and congressman feeling like it is their place to step in and save the sport ( funny because steroids and the juiced ball era brought baseball back to life ). Why do politicians feel the need to step in to situations where they have little to no knowledge ( like my buddy Taylor Hooten),…

While some Mixed Martial Artists may say that it is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog, others will tell you that physical shape and fitness does make a big difference. So what does a man…

Anyone wondering what time Usain Bolt may have achieved if he had not jogged the last ten metres at Beijing got an answer yesterday (Sunday 16th August 2009) when he smashed his own 100m record by 11/100ths. The 6 foot 5 inch Jamaican left the competition in his wake, no easy feat considering Tyson Gay and fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell were contenders, with a breath taking time of 9.58 seconds. The 22 year old said he felt confident after the semi finals and felt good in himself after he smashed his own record over 100m. Tyson Gay who took the…

What are steroids, and why do they make us grow? What works best with a cutting cycle? What work-out should I use during a bulker? Why am I not growing? Why did I stop gaining? Should I go up in mgs on my Test? Can I go past 12 weeks on my first cycle? How many days should I work-out? I have to say I hear those questions daily, which is fine, I am always glad to help. My problem is why aren’t people asking the correct questions. The ones that would suit them much more, and create a knowledge…

I’ll admit I’ve been neglecting the WEC for a while now, but it’s only because I’ve been waiting for something to happen that’s, in my opinion, worthwhile. I’ve got to say, If I’d heard another word about Miguel Torres, this would be more of a suicide note than an article. He’s the best pound-for-pound in the WEC, but don’t you think the other fighters deserve a little exposure as well? Like a magnetic man wandering too close to a knife shop, this brings me to my point. I recall another fighter being called the best PFP fighter in the WEC.…

Probably the most ripped and in shape women in Mixed Martial Arts today, Cristiane “Cris Cyborg” Santos shows us her workout and training regimen. This girl is unbelievably strong and quick. It must be this crazy hard training routine that gives her the ability to straight man-handle girls in the cage. What an amazing showing of work ethic. I have to say this clip has made me truly respect Cyborg’s athleticism, drive and determination.
