Have Transgressions Made Tiger a Pussy Cat for Masters

Woods has already gone on record as saying that he is going to be a different man on and off the golf course. On the course, Woods is going to try and limit his negative outbursts. Off the course, Tiger’s plan should be to have Nike make him a chastity belt.

As far as Woods’ course behavior, I don’t know what cursing and throwing clubs has to do with banging trashy women, but he’s making changes all across the board.

Last week Vanity Fair released their latest issue with interviews and pictorials of some of the women Tiger clubbed in the sack.  How could these comments possibly hurt his image anymore?

Woods played a practice round on Monday and had his first reaction from fans. What does a friend and fellow golfer think Tiger’s chances are to prowl the course the way he has been prowling the night clubs? More importantly, what was the fan reception like?

What are the odds makers saying Tiger’s chances are of winning the Masters? How many people are willing to take that bet?

Vanity is what Started this Escapade

On March 31, Vanity Fair published a spicy little number written by Mark Seal called, “The Temptation of Tiger Woods.”

The most eye-popping piece of info from this article was that Tiger insisted on having sex with one of his mistresses, Mindy Lawton, even though she was menstruating. When the key card to his office wouldn’t work, they drove to a nearby parking lot and had sex in the car.

According to the interview in Vanity Fair, Lawton claims that the National Enquirer found out about their affair on this day. A reporter picked up her bloody tampon and threatened that he would expose Tiger.

I can’t believe somebody picked up this tramp’s dirty tampon! If you’re having sex in a car, who knows what kind of diseases she might have? HIV, herpes, gonorrhea — I’m not touching that bloody rag with someone else’s hands.

The four women that Seal interviewed described Tiger as being cheap. How are cheap women going to call someone else cheap?  These women were nothing more than sex toys for Tiger to act out his deep, dark fantasies.

Lawton claims the only thing Woods ever bought her was a chicken wrap from Subway. The only reason he fed her was so he could play a round on her back nine.

The old saying, “Why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free,” applies great in this situation.

How Easily We Forgive

Woods had his first public golfing experience in four plus months on April 5. Just like his life, over that time Woods first shot ended up in the rough; a few fans chuckled as he asked for another ball.

More telling than any golf swing about how Woods’ feels is the way he interacted with the 500-person gallery at his practice round.

Golf writer for ESPN, Jason Sobel reported, when departing the first tee box, a fan shouted, “Welcome back, Tiger!,” Woods nodded and smiled at the fan.

Another observer commented, “Great day for golf, Tiger,” to which Woods responded, “Yes, it is.”

Tiger’s colleague, Fred Couples, said of the Augusta fan base,

“I think [fans are] excited to see him play. When they see him hit a driver, they’re not relating that to some mistake he made, whenever it was. They want to see how he’s playing. They can’t touch him and feel him, but they can yell for him, and that’s what they did for four hours. It was kind of fun to see. I don’t think it’s going to be any different. It’s not a matter of whether he shoots 68 or 75 — they’re going to be happy to see him.” – Tiger Practices at the Masters

As people, I think we understand that all of us are capable of error, and although we may not like what he did to his family, we want to see the best.

Fred Couples said, “I just played a practice round with him, and all I’m answering is how he’s doing. He’s the best player in the world. He hasn’t played golf in a while, but he’s still the best player in the world. I think he’s the most talented. I love the way he plays. I think he’ll do well here.” – “Tiger Practices at the Masters”

710 ESPN’s John Ireland reported that Vegas has Tiger favored at 5 to 1 odds, and they have collected the highest percentage of bets ever recorded on the Masters by 33 percent.

Tiger has played the course six times over the past three weeks and has enjoyed much success here over the years. Golf is like riding a bike for Tiger; for those of you who can’t ride a bike, it’s like tying your shoes; for those of you who can’t tie their shoes, when done reading seek help.

I can’t say for sure I will like Tiger’s new calm demeanor on the course. What I can say for sure is that I am ready to see Tiger on the prowl on Sunday, on the back nine, hunting down his fifth “Green Jacket.”
