When Brock Lesnar made his UFC debut on February 2, 2008, his fate as the UFC’s version of a WWE “heel” had already been sealed. Lesnar was really the perfect candidate to be the biggest villain the sport had seen. With his cartoonish physique, big mouth and pro wrestling background, most fans had already decided to hate him before he ever stepped into the Octagon. He represented something they wanted nothing to do with. He came from a “fake” sport with predetermined outcomes and entered an organization that coined the term, “as real as it gets.” It probably didn’t help…
Any form of resistance training, whether through a machine, with free weights, or via bodyweight training is beneficial to anyone who seeks to lose weight in the long term. For each 1lb of muscle that adds to the body, expect to burn on average an extra 50 calories per day. The more muscle on the body, the more of a fat burning machine the body will become. Men usually want to build up their bodies with a fine bit of sexy muscles, but women, on the other hand, may stray from any form of resistance training because of the belief…
I had received quite a few samples of Kalpa Pharmaceuticals products a while back, and I wanted to test the quality of there overall products . Instead of doing so all by myself ( would be somewhat one-sided ) I ask a few friends to partake in the sampling process. One person that I trust to be truthful and has enough experience with steroids , where he knows the difference between junk and human quality. So I asked him to try them out , and give a brief review, and so here it is. My latest trek into the…
Straight off of Quinton Rampage Jackson’s website, there is word that Jackson will no longer be fighting. He is hanging up the gloves and throwing in the towel on the UFC. It appears that Rampage is very unhappy about the way he has been treated by the UFC and feels his talents and popularity can be used to make money in other careers that don’t require fighting. Here is what Rampage had to say: “The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract &…
What This Really Means This week in sports has raised a great many questions about parody in sports and I’m here to answer some of them. The Jets beat the Patriots…WTRM: The Jets know how to win close games, Mark Sanchez is good, and New England doesn’t need to press the panic button. The Falcons pulled out a win against Carolina…WTRM: The Falcons still know how to win tight games and if Jake Delhomme didn’t play so badly the Panthers might actually have a chance at winning something. Oakland found a way to win…WTRM: San Diego is NOT…
Anthony Duong is a freelance writer based in London, UK. He coaches youth soccer and teaches physical education. ——- Many of you probably didn’t even know there were different types of protein. But there are, and it’s important for you to know the pros and cons of each one, because it can have drastic effects on your gains. To begin, I’m going to say that protein is the single most important nutrient if you lift weights. Carbs, fats and everything else, if you accidentally miss out on these for a day or two, the effects will be negative, but not…
Fruits and vegetables should be eaten as part of a healthy diet, but did you know that there are certain ‘Superfoods’ that have even greater health benefits. The average person should eat around 5-10 portions of fruits and vegetables a day. A couple of handfuls of strawberries, as an example, is a portion. A glass of orange juice counts as a portion. If you add a pepper, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms to a risotto, that is four of your fruits and vegetables already. They are low in calories and very high in antioxidants, which help to strengthen the body’s immune…
I’m 12-3 and now I need to keep the roll going. At this point I’m convinced that I have just about everybody in the league pegged except for the 49ers and the Cardinals (yes, that whole game jacked me up last week.) I have some “deep thoughts” about a few of these, but bear with me, I promise there’s a point. Sunday September 20, 2009 Houston @ Tennessee 1 P.M. Houston is…well….not very good. Tennessee is….well….better. With Dunta Robinson getting fined for imploring his owner to pay him on the back of his shoe (yes, he’s THAT stupid) and Matt…
Since Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has taken a role in the new Hollywood adaptation of “The A-Team”, the coach vs coach finale of TUF 10 must be pushed back. In the meantime, this leaves former Light Heavyweight champ Rashad Evans without a fight. Rashad has a solution for this problem however, calling out Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. From MMALive: “I think it’s a great idea. As a matter of fact, Joe Silva call me. Put the fight together, I’m ready for it. You know my mom probably gonna say, ‘Rashad, I told you stop calling out Anderson Silva. Rashad ,he made…
Well, the UFC has decided to give us quite a show for their “filler” card. There won’t be any championship bouts, but a lot of important fights here will decide future title shots. The main event between former middleweight champ Rich “Ace” Franklin (25-4) and returning former light heavyweight champ Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort (18-8)in a catchweight bout at 195 pounds. Franklin has been all over the place lately, fighting at 185 for the middleweight title, at 205 against Matt Hammil and at 195 against Wanderlei Silva, which cost Silva a title shot. Franklin looks to play spoiler yet again…
