A hot button issue in sports today is steroid use, most notably anabolic steroids or as the sporting world refers to them as PED’s (performance enhancing drugs). I don’t and have not used steroids in my lifetime and probably wouldn’t let or encourage my children to use them. With that being said, I don’t have negative opinions about them or about the people who use them. The Problem is Excess With our tendency to under educate ourselves and overly consume anything and everything in sight has created the general perception that steroids are horrible. I am not a doctor, nor…

It was quite a situation this afternoon.  On the phone via conference call, four fighters who were about to challenge for two Strikeforce championships.  Nick Diaz and Marius Zaromskis for the welterweight title and Chris “Cyborg” Santos and Marloes Coenen for the lightweight women’s championship.  There were members of mmajunkie, USA Today, Sports Illustrated….and me, a 24 year old college kid with no true professional sports journalism experience simply thanking my lucky stars I was given the opportunity to participate. I had the “worst of the worst” weekends making NFL picks, and the most disappointing of those failed picks was the Cardinals’ painful death at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. I was hoping for a good performance from the Cardinals, but when I began to live blog the game on Twitter… …and Tim Hightower ran the ball 70 yards on the Cardinals’ opening play for a touchdown. I tweeted my excitement very quickly: “anyone want to admit i was right about tim hightower?” It All Went Downhill Fast I have to say that I’m surprised the Saints scored…
