Ed Nunn Skips 2009 Ironman Pro

National champ Ed Nunn decided to delay his pro debut. “My mind was saying yes, but my body was telling me no. I want to do the smart thing. A lot of guys turn pro, and they do their first show and don’t do too well. They lose that limelight and disappear”. That’s how Ed Nunn explained his decision to delay his professional debut that is going to happen sooner or later.

“My pro debut is special to me, and I want to do well”, – the 37-year-old Nunn said. “I don’t want to give it half, I want to give it 100 percent”.

Nunn hopes that the longer break will allow him to gain more muscle mass and improve before stepping on an IFBB stage. Ed is very likely to make it. In the nine months between the 2007 Nationals where he finished fifth and his winning at the 2008 USA, Nunn was able to pack on surprising 17 pounds!

Nunn will focus on pro contests of “second season” with his debut at one of the August shows in Tampa, Dallas or Houston. Then, he will be likely to take part in the Atlantic City Pro and, if all goes smooth and easy, he will contest the Mr. Olympia two weeks later. “I want to make it like I’m going for my pro card again. I will go in with a lot of determination and drive”, – Nunn says.
