What The New Year Brings Unfortunately!!!

I write before your very eyes as a man who tried his hardest to keep his diet in place through the holidays ( Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) and still I am 5 pounds heavier.  I realize it could be way more significant then it is, so I want to share some of the things I used to get by.  First off diets have to be something similar to how you want to eat for the rest of your life.  If it is too extreme it will be nearly impossible to maintain so the lost weight will return, so make it reasonable, it may take longer but it is more likely to stay off.

Next I like to go with the CKD ( Clinical Ketosis Diet) and use the holidays as your carb loading days.  Ketosis for those who have never heard of it, is a carb free ( well to the best of your ability normally less then 10 grams) diet which causes your body to feed on your own fat storage.  This worked pretty well though I did cheat a few times.  On the holidays themselves make sure to eat breakfast ,even if it was small it will help your metabolism for the big meal.  I noticed most like to not eat until the big meal, not a good idea.

My final big tip is if you over eat take it out on the weights, meaning the day after your storage of carbs should be so high your energy should be able to take your training to another level.  These tips especially help when your cycle runs through the Holidays just remember to keep your diet clean regardless of whether your on or off cycle.  This is especially aimed at all of the population who decided that this is the year they get skinny, don’t take the short cut or the diet that swears you will lose weight fast, it doesn’t work that way, slow and steady is the ONLY way that works.  The quick fix never holds, and if your looking for short cuts already then don’t waste your time, your not going to make it.  As for the diets , there are many diets out there, find the one that works best for you, if it sounds too ridiculous or too good to be true it most likely is.
