I was just wondering anyone knew the most effectine times to eat certain foods to get maximum uptake while using insulin. I know all about the 10 carbs for each unit, but I read once about Taking protein in at certain times to increase uptake, and how long is it before you should take in fat without it going straight to your abs. I am currently in the middle of a cycle and want to add it in for its obvious benefits, but am also watching bodyfat levels because of an upcoming competition.
The fat and protien intake depends on the insulin. If you take humalog it will be totally out of your system in a little over 4 hours. Here is a graph. IMO it is best to get all the carbs you need first before you have the chance of hypo. Then take you protien shake or protien whatever. Humalog requires a prescription, but maybe you can persuade the pharmisist. Just give him/her shit and they might give it to you.
