I Voted For Obama, But Wish We Voted For V.p. Separately

Meet your new VP

You’re not actually staying up to watch the vote count, are you? Here’s a look at some of the damage Joe Biden’s done in the past couple decades, courtesy of Radley Balko.

Yeah, this stuff became law as a result of his work in the Senate, but don’t expect to recover freedom lost while he’s rubbing elbows with Our Holy Savior in the White House.

Biden has sponsored more damaging drug war legislation than any Democrat in Congress.

Hate the way federal prosecutors use RICO laws to take aim at drug offenders? Thank Biden.

How about the abomination that is federal asset forfeiture laws? Thank Biden.

Think federal prosecutors have too much power in drug cases? Thank Biden.

Think the title of a “Drug Czar” is sanctimonious and silly? Thank Biden, who helped create the position (and still considers it an accomplishment worth boasting about). Tired of the ridiculous steroids hearings in Congress? Thank Biden, who led the effort to make steroids a Schedule 3 drug, and has been among the blowhardiest of the blowhards when it comes to sports and performance enhancing drugs.

Biden voted in favor of using international development aid for drug control (think plan Columbia, plan Afghanistan, and other meddling anti-drug efforts that have only fostered loathing of America, backlash, and unintended consequences). Oh, and he was also the chief sponsor of 2004’s horrendous RAVE Act.

Well I hate to say it, but I was well aware of these facts before I voted for Obama at 4 p.m. this afternoon.  It is voting for the greater of two evils, and like in most battles, money won out.  I am currently middle class, more toward the lower end because of debt (incurred from many years of school).  McCain though I believe is a much better candidate then W, but I just don’t see how 4 more years of a Republican Regime would help the people I associate and grew up with ( the POOR a.k.a. the lower middle class).  So I take Obama with the bad (Biden), a man know for choosing his battles cowardly.  He has been a big backer of Bills that are guaranteed to get passed, how many politicians are going to place their career on the line to legalize steroids.  Not even Arnold would attempt that battle and we all know where he stands.  In the process of attempting to free up more money for recreational things like steroids we shot ourselves in the foot.  But the one question I have for Biden is, why is it so bad to make your living selling steroids, and with these charges regardless of how bogus they are, you give judges power to over sentence such people.

Yet if you make your living stealing peoples pensions , even though you make millions a year, that this doesn’t carry anything close to a similar sentence.  What makes one worse then the other, and why don’t you fight to help the person whose pension got ripped?  Why?  Well because that might mess up some of the politicians’ kick backs, and God forbid that.  For some stupid reason crimes done by rich people are never seen as severe as that of the crimes of middle class.  If I ran in a corner store right now and robbed them with a gun, I would get anywhere from 10-20 years, maybe more.  Now a rich gentleman steals from his own company’s retirement fund, and 1000 times the amount I would get,  he would be given probation or maybe a year at a nice comfy Federal prison.

But both are stealing PERIOD.

You know what, hopefully he will find a new fight to partake in, like wheelchair accessible ramps at all restaurants ( because that is about his speed, and no one would oppose him), and we won’t be effected as a community.  Once again I found out that there are no win all decisions made on Election Day.  So tomorrow I will wake up and find out if the 20 minute wait actually made a difference, and if not there is always 4 years from now ( wow that sounds longer when it is in George W Bush years), but the one thing I do feel strongly about, IT CAN’T POSSIBLILY GET ANY WORSE!!! Wait, now that I said that I feel like I might have just jinxed our country, DAM!!!!
